Construction

The Bureau of Construction plays a pivotal role in creating a safer environment for travelers in our state. We are entrusted with a broad spectrum of responsibilities, managing an annual construction program in the order of $200 million with approximately 85 field engineers and engineering technicians. Our engineers and technicians bear the vital responsibility of administering competitive construction contracts, ensuring strict compliance with project plans, specifications, and established industry standards.  We partner daily with private industry contractors, suppliers, and consultants to deliver high quality projects on time and on budget. Work zone safety, environmental protection, and quality assurance are primary components of the Construction Bureau’s contract administration efforts.  We do this with proactive communication, teamwork, integrity, and professionalism.
