Bridge Work on I-89 in Hopkinton

Day and nighttime lane closures necessary to complete bridge painting

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will begin daytime and nighttime construction operations on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, on Route I-89 northbound and southbound, at the South Road Bridge spanning I-89 to facilitate the painting of bridge steel in Hopkinton, NH.  This overpass is located just North of Exit 4.

Daytime work will cause lane shifts on I-89 northbound, and nighttime work will cause lane shifts on I-89 southbound. Message boards will be in use to inform and direct motorists.  Weather permitting the work will be completed in six weeks.

Traffic on South Road will be reduced to one lane of alternating two-way traffic, maintained 24/7 with temporary traffic signals.

This work is part of the $1,418,950 Concord and Hopkinton 41703 project. Modern Protective Coatings of Hudson, NH is the prime contractor for the project, which is scheduled to be completed in December, 2021.
