Nighttime Lane Closures on I-89 in Hopkinton

Lane Closures Necessary to Complete Bridge Painting

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will begin maintenance work on the Jewett Road Bridge over I-89 in Hopkinton, NH on Monday, May 17, 2021.  Weather permitting, crews will be repainting the bridge steel and nighttime lane closures on I-89, northbound and southbound, will be required for 10 weeks.  This overpass is located just south of Exit 4 and all lanes on I-89 will be open during the day.

In addition, the Exit 4 southbound on-ramp will be closed during the nighttime hours when crews are working on that end of the bridge. Motorists will be detoured to the I-89 on ramp at Exit 2 via NH Route 9/202 and the Langley Parkway (6.5 miles).  Detour signs and message boards will be used to direct motorists.

During the ten weeks of work the Jewett Road bridge over I-89 will be limited to one lane of alternating two-way traffic using temporary traffic signals.

This work is part of the $1,418,950 Concord and Hopkinton 41703 project. Modern Protective Coatings of Hudson, NH is the prime contractor for the project, which is scheduled to be completed in December, 2021.
