Road Work on Route 101 in Exeter-Hampton Resumes

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) has resumed road construction work on Route 101 in Exeter and Hampton, eastbound and westbound, that will require daily and/or nightly lane and ramp closures through July 31, 2022.

Weather permitting, construction work on Route 101 between mile marker 124 and 132.5 includes pavement repairs, guardrail repair, drainage adjustments, ADA curb compliance installation, replacement of signs, and a CCTV pole installation at Exit 10.  The bridges on Guinea Road and Towle Farm Road, passing over Route 101, will also be resurfaced.

In addition, the work will include paving the acceleration and deceleration lanes at Exits 10, 11, 12 and 13. Mainline pavement treatment involves a Bonded Wearing Course (BWC) from mile marker 124.6 to a joint approximately .25 miles east of the Towle Farm Road overpass.

Message boards and smart work zone devices will be used to notify the traveling public of any traffic pattern changes. Motorists should remain alert while traveling through the construction zone, and obey all posted signs.

The general contractor is Continental Paving and the total cost of the contract is $ 6,977,096.
