The project is located on the Spaulding Turnpike (NH 16) at the existing toll plazas in the Cities of Dover and Rochester. The existing Dover plaza is just to the north of the Exit 6 interchange and the Rochester plaza is located just to the south of the Exit 11/12 interchange. The two plazas are approximately 12 miles apart. This website (www.nhaet.com) contains additional information.

The project will convert the two existing traditional tollbooth plazas to All Electronic Tolling by erecting an overhead gantry 600 feet north of the existing tollbooths. The Dover location will introduce a third Southbound travel lane while the Northbound travel lane from the Q contract will be extended through the gantry and tapered to two lanes 2300 feet north of the gantry. The Rochester gantry will be constructed to allow for future third lane in each direction. The final layout will be two travel lanes in each direction. The two existing tollbooth plazas, as well as the administration buildings will be removed after the successful launch of AET at both locations. The Rochester location will construct two soundwalls for noise abatement.
