Boat Ramp Construction on Project Street in Hinsdale

Existing boat ramp will be shut down and access to the Fort Hill Trail will be closed during the week.

On Monday, September 12, 2022, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will close the existing boat ramp and begin construction of a new boat ramp in Hinsdale, NH.  The new boat ramp is a small part of the ongoing project to replace the two bridges carrying Route 119 over the Connecticut River.

The new boat ramp will replace the existing facilities off Prospect Street and will provide boaters better access to the Connecticut River. Along with the new boat ramp, improvements will include the addition of several parking spaces for vehicles and boat trailers.

When work gets underway, the existing boat ramp will be shut down indefinitely, and limited access to the Fort Hill Rail Trail will be available during weekends only.  Optional access and parking for the Fort Hill Rail Trail can be found approximately one mile north of the boat ramp location on Route 119.

Weather permitting, this work is scheduled to be completed by the end of November, 2022. Reed & Reed of Woolwich, Maine is the general contractor, and Bazin Brothers Trucking from Westminster, Vermont was hired to complete the $350,000 ramp project.
