Bridge Closure and Detour in Woodstock

Travelers will be impacted on NH 175

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation announces that project work on the Route 175 bridge over the Pemigewasset River in Woodstock, 0.5 mile south of Tripoli Road at Exit 31 of I-93, will require closure of Route 175 at this location for a period of approximately two weeks from July 15 through July 31, 2024.

This work will consist of sheet pile cofferdam installation in the Pemigewasset River from the bridge deck. This work will require the full-time (24-hour) closure of Route 175 at the bridge with a signed detour in place to direct travelers around the closure and to their destinations.

Northbound Route 175 traffic will be diverted onto South Station Road to Route 3 South and onto I-93 Northbound at Exit 30, then to the Exit 31 offramp at Tripoli Road. Southbound Route 175 traffic will be diverted at Tripoli Road and onto I-93 southbound at Exit 31, then to the Exit 30 off-ramp to Route 3 North, to South Station Road.

Message boards, traffic control devices, and smart work zone devices will be used to notify the traveling public. Road Users are also encouraged to sign up for free, real-time construction and traffic related messages (text or email) from https://newengland511.org/.

Another 24-hour closure of the bridge, with the same detour, will be required in mid to late October. An additional press release will be posted prior to this work to inform road users.

This work is part of the Woodstock scour repair project (#42534) on Route 175 over the Pemigewasset River. R.M. Piper, Inc. of Plymouth, New Hampshire is the general contractor for the $2.1 million project, which is scheduled for completion in the fall of 2024.
