Bridge Work on I-93 in Campton between Exits 27 and 28
Two-year preservation project will impact travelers, northbound and southbound between exits 27 and 28
The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will be starting the preservation of five (5) bridges on I-93 in the Town of Campton between Exits 27 and 28. This is a two-year project with the first year consisting of work on two bridges in the northbound barrel, and one bridge in the southbound barrel.
Weather permitting work will start on Monday, April 3, 2023, which will entail placing permanent construction signage and preparing to close the northbound right lane, which will occur later during the week. Phase 1 of the work will start south of the Blair Road bridge at Exit 27 and continue north over the Pemigewasset/Route 3 bridge. Phase 2 will close the northbound left lanes. The speed limit will be reduced to 60 MPH for the duration of construction activities, through October 2023.
Blair Road will have daily alternating traffic controlled by flaggers for up to a two-week period in May for phase 1, and August for phase 2, to repair the stone fascia’s.
Message boards, traffic control devices, and smart work zone devices will be used to notify the traveling public. Motorists should remain alert while traveling through the construction zone and obey all posted signs.
R.S Audley of Bow was awarded the $3.3 million dollar contract.
