Charlestown, NH – Springfield, VT 41478 Public Officials Meeting 

NHDOT to provide an update to the proposed plan to rehabilitate the bridge carrying NH Route 11 over the Connecticut River between Charlestown, NH and Springfield, VT.

Arrangements have been made by the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) to hold a Public Officials Meeting to further discuss the rehabilitation of the bridge located on NH Route 11 over the Connecticut River between the Towns of Charlestown, NH, and Springfield, VT. 
 
The scope of work consists of preservation efforts including steel superstructure repairs and painting, and substructure concrete repairs. This project may have an effect on cultural or historic resources that are potentially eligible for or listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Individuals or organizations with a demonstrated interest in the potential impacts to historic resources have an opportunity to become Consulting Parties under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.  Additional information will be provided at the public informational meeting. The presentation will discuss a modification to the traffic control plan discussed at the February 21, 2024 Selectboard meeting. 
 
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at the Town Hall, 19 Summer Street, Charlestown, NH as part of the regularly scheduled Selectboard’s meeting starting at 5:30 pm. 
 
The purpose of this meeting is to present citizens and public officials with information regarding the proposed project and to solicit public input in order to ensure that project decisions meet public transportation needs, community goals, and protect and enhance the environment.
