Daytime Road Work on Route 25 in Sandwich-Tamworth

Construction activities will impact road users on Route 25 for several days.

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will begin daytime road work on NH Route 25, eastbound and westbound, from Vittum Hill Road in Sandwich to Lords Hill Road in Tamworth. Guardrail work will occur on June 28, 2024, and the paving of spot inlays for approximately two miles along NH Route 25 will occur on July 1st and 2nd. This work is being done in preparation for the Chip Seal paving treatment which will be applied later this summer.

Weather permitting this work is scheduled to be done between the hours of 6:00 am and 6:00 pm and will require the use of temporary lane closures. Alternating traffic will utilize one lane around the moving temporary work zone. Message boards, flaggers, traffic control devices, and smart work zone devices will be used to notify the traveling public.

Motorists are encouraged to sign up for free, real-time traffic related messages (text or email) from https://newengland511.org/

This work is part of the Statewide Tier 2 Paving contract in the Lakes Region (Alton, Gilford, Meredith-Center Harbor, Sandwich-Tamworth and Barnstead), which includes paving sections along NH 25 in Meredith-Center Harbor, NH 11 in Gilford, NH 11 in Alton and Alton-Barnstead along NH 28.
