Lane Shift on I-89 Bridge in Lebanon

The work will require a lane closure during the day and night on Thursday, December 16, 2021

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will be shifting the southbound traffic on the I-89 Mascoma River bridge project, located at Exit 19 in Lebanon, to allow for the next phase of construction.

The work will require a temporary high-speed lane closure on Thursday, December 16, 2021 during daylight hours.  The lane shift will be delineated with lane striping, traffic barrels and concrete barrier.  The traveling public is reminded that the work zone is posted at 55 mph.

Currently traffic is split with the Southbound high-speed lane being shifted into the median and then onto the Northbound lane.  This lane will remain in this configuration for the duration of the winter.  The Southbound low speed lane traffic will be shifted from the low-speed lane of the bridge over the Mascoma River to the high-speed lane.  The lane will then shift back into the low-speed lane in the area of the Exit 19 Southbound on-ramp.  Motorists should use extra caution in this area.   Both lanes will remain in this configuration for the winter with traffic being shifted back to both lanes on Southbound in the spring of 2022.
