Lane Split on I-89 Northbound Bridge in Lebanon

The work will require lane closures during the night of Thursday, August 11, 2022.

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will be splitting traffic on I-89 northbound at the bridge over the Mascoma river at the Exit 19 off ramp during the night of Thursday, August 11, 2022.  The work will require temporary low-speed and high-speed lane closures between the hours of 8:00 pm and 6:00 am.  It may be necessary to temporary close the exit 19 northbound off ramp to allow for lane striping during the night.  If a closure is needed the motorists will be detoured to exit 20 to reverse directions.  A combination of detour signs and message boards will be in place in the event a temporary closure is needed.

Once the lane split is complete the left and right lanes will be split crossing the bridge over the Mascoma River.  During this phase of construction, the left lane will have an available width of 12 feet and the right lane will have an available width of 14 feet.   Signage will be in place notifying wide loads and motorists wishing to use Exit 19 to use the right lane.

This phase of construction is anticipated to be completed by the middle of September.

The traveling public is reminded that the work zone is posted at 55 mph and extra caution should be used while traveling through the work zone.
