Nighttime Work on Spaulding Turnpike in Dover

The work will require temporarily lane closures at night for at least one week.

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will begin roadway milling and paving operations on the Spaulding Turnpike (NH Route 16) in Dover, in the area of the Dover Toll Plaza, on Thursday evening, September 29, 2022.

Weather permitting, the work will be done between the hours of 7 pm and 6 am with lane closures being utilized as needed during timeframes of lower traffic flow.  Uniformed Police Officers will be utilized on the Northbound and Southbound barrels of the Spaulding Turnpike to control traffic during these operations.  Motorists should exercise caution when driving through the construction zone.  The overall duration of this milling and paving work is anticipated to be one week.

The proposed work is part of the Dover-Rochester 29440 project. RS Audley, Inc of Bow New Hampshire is the prime contractor for the $23 million project, which is scheduled to be completed in June, 2024.
