The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will begin resurfacing work in Orford and other Grafton County towns on July 10, 2024.
The first section to be paved in this contract is on NH Route 25A in Orford. The work is weather dependent and will require temporary daytime lane closures for at least two weeks. Road users will utilize one lane of alternating traffic during the work hours.
This project involves the resurfacing of various roadway sections in Maintenance District 2. This resurfacing program consists of seven road sections, totaling 31 miles.
This work will be performed on Route 25A and Dame Hill Road in Orford, on Main Street and Shaker Hill Road in Enfield, on North Thetford Road in Lyme, and on Cardigan Mountain Road in Canaan. This work requires mobile, temporary lane closures within daytime hours, (6am – 6pm). Opposite lane with alternating traffic flow will direct travelers around the closure.
Message boards, traffic control devices, and smart work zone devices will be used to notify the traveling public. Road users are also encouraged to sign up for free, real-time construction and traffic related messages (text or email) from https://newengland511.org/.
