Route 11 Bridge in Andover for Sale
NHDOT seeking proposals for the adaptive reuse of the Route 11 bridge over the Northern Rail Trail.
The NH Department of Transportation (NHDOT) is accepting proposals for the purchase, relocation and preservation of the historic Northern Rail Trail Bridge (No. 206/137), that carries NH Route 11 over the Northern Rail Trail in the Town of Andover, NH.
To be considered, proposals must be submitted electronically to Bureau16@dot.nh.gov. The subject line must read: “PROPOSAL FOR THE ADAPTIVE REUSE OF THE NORTHERN RAIL TRAIL BRIDGE,” and be received by 12:00 pm on Friday, October 18, 2024.
Constructed in 1929, the bridge carries NH Route 11 over the Northern Rail Trail is a five span, I-beam bridge, 179 feet long and 29.5 feet wide. The bridge is a non-original concrete deck with non-original W-beam guardrails. The bridge is located on a curve in the road and has a 51-degree skew. The deck is supported by seven concrete-encased I-beams.
