Solicitation of Interest - Rental Property Management

The Department of Transportation is soliciting expressions of interest from qualified and experienced firms to manage rental properties acquired by the department for highway construction projects.  Responsibilities would include but not be limited to showing the properties, coordinating all appropriate maintenance and repairs, collection of rent payments, handling of security deposits, payment of bills and property taxes, required inspections, and completing all accounting records, among others.

Bid proposals will be requested by the department for the management of the department’s rental properties state-wide.

All interested firms must be pre-qualified by the Department of Transportation to be eligible to submit a bid for the management contract.  Items considered in pre-qualification include the information received from this notice as well as the firm’s past performance and recommendations for similar responsibilities.  This review may include a field inspection of rental properties presently managed by the firm.  Final selection will be by sealed bids that are received for a proposed contract with “sample” listings of properties to be managed.
