Troy 40371 Public Hearing

This hearing will discuss the proposed replacement of the existing red-list concrete rigid frame bridge that carries NH Route 12 over the Cheshire Rail Trail.

On January 18, 2023 the Governor and Executive Council approved the petition of the NH Department of Transportation (NHDOT) to convene a public hearing to determine whether there is an occasion for the laying out of this project and acquiring necessary rights-of-way. A Commission of Three Persons was appointed to conduct the hearing and its members are Executive Councilor David Wheeler, Jennifer Rhodes, and Edwin Smith.
 

Prehearing Conference: 
The Commission for the project will meet on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at 10:30 AM, at the NH Department of Transportation, Room 112/113, 7 Hazen Drive in Concord, NH, to discuss the proposed project. This is a public meeting under RSA Chapter 91-A.  The intent of the meeting is not to take testimony but rather to plan for the Public Hearing on the project to be held Wednesday, June 19, 2024 in Troy.
 
Public Hearing: 
Under NH RSA 230:14 and Public Law 100-17 (Surface Transportation and Uniform Relocation Assistance Act of 1987), a public hearing has been set to discuss the proposed replacement of the existing red-list concrete rigid frame bridge that carries NH Route 12 over the Cheshire Rail Trail (Bridge No. 096/091). NH Route 12 Road improvements will include approximately seven hundred feet of roadway reconstruction and side tie-in improvements.

The community center will be open at 5:30 pm for the inspection of plans by any interested persons.
 
Interested landowners, local officials, and highway users are invited to attend the hearing and will have the opportunity to express their comments relative to the project. The department will record audio of the hearing. Maps, plans, environmental studies, and other pertinent information developed for the Department, along with written reports received because of the coordination with other agencies, are available at the Department of Transportation at the John O. Morton Building, 7 Hazen Drive, Concord, New Hampshire for inspection and copying.  Please call Jason Tremblay, Project Manager, at (603) 271-1614 for an appointment.
