Computer Support Section
The section is responsible for supporting specialized computer needs throughout the Department. Each group is considered subject matter experts in their field and can be utilized as a resource to other sections and bureaus.
The Computer Support Section performs three distinct roles: CAD/D software development and support, graphic design and preparing topographic survey data for designers.
The CAD/D Support Group develops procedures and documentation for designing projects using Bentley software products and provides technical support for those products. The group is responsible for testing CAD/D software updates and approving deployment to the rest of the Department. They also coordinate computer hardware support with Helpdesk.
The Graphic Design Group prepares department-wide publications such as the "On the Move" Newsletter, Annual Reports, Budget Presentations books and various other reports and graphics requested by the executive office and bureau administrator. The group also assists Highway Design staff in posting information to the external website.
The Plan Preparation Group processes data from survey crews to prepare drawings and 3D models for design staff and District offices including field checking the data. New survey data is compared to that stored in the Asset Management system and updated as necessary.
